Our Experience

International Collaborative Workshop – Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia

Six sport professionals from different EU countries met in Slovenia for a 4-days workshop on how to enhance the link between sport and environment and on how to use sport as tool to raise environmental awareness.

Green Zines

Green Zines present our experience through photos, quotes and material collected by participants during the 8 local events in each partner country. Each zine represents a different element of nature (air, fire, water and earth) and is handmade.

Green Champions- Sport events in nature

As part of the Green League project, 8 sports events inspired and connected to one of the 4 natural elements (fire, earth, water, air) were organised in each country. The events were organised to promote environmental awareness of how sport and nature intersect and to raise awareness of the human impact on the environment. These are the testimonies of some of the participants who attended the events.

Green Champions- Green Leagues’ local tournaments

As part of the Green League project, each partner organised sport local tournament complemented by a series of environmental cleaning activities and relay races inspired by the “Plogging” discipline (pick up trash while jogging), preceded by a waste collection activity and using the collected waste bag as a symbolic baton to be passed. These are the testimonies of some of the participants who attended the events.

Popular athletes

 In each country popular athletes were invited to be testimonials for the project and support the project’s values and objectives, thus acting as role models for young athletes and sport stakeholders.

Our documentary Green League provides an overview of the most important moments of the project in all countries involved.
